In mathematics, Pythagoras theorem states that hypotenuse square equals to opposite square plus adjacent square. i.e the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the square built upon the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle is equal to the sum of the areas of the square upon the remaining sides.
In Nigeria, the area of the square built upon the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle is not equal to the sum of the areas of the squares upon the
remaining sides.
The substratum upon which this country is built upon by its founding fathers is two pea’s in pod to the attitude quotient of its citizens, in this molecule of the cosmos we found ourselves, everyone is void of attitude quotient but intelligent quotient in terms of corruption, bad leadership, et al and that is why our country will always be at the apogee in terms of negative perception among the comity of nations.
Nigeria hot-off-press, is battling with so many quandary as a giant of Africa ranging from economic recession, corruption, poverty, insecurity among others because she neglected the vision and mission of her founding fathers.
However, the likes of Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikwe, Tafawa Balewa, Sir Amadu Bello et al were leaders who were blessed with attitude quotient and intelligent quotient were able to think outside the box and leverage on the little resources which were available as at post- independence such as agricultural products. E.g cocoa, palm oil, rubber etc which were use to prefabricate capital projects upon which our so called leaders bet-bottom-dollar on today rather than focusing ,maintaining, sustaining these legacies, they are busy striving to pay workers salary because they lack the attitude quotient and intelligent quotient to steer the leadership of this country.
Take for instance, the cocoa money which was used to built institutions then are far better off than the oil money used to built coeval institutions. Every Nigerian is dearth of attitude quotient and that is why everyone has the notion to dimple the image of this country should in case they get to
leadership position. i.e embezzling public funds and also mess the environment at will.
Despite the fact that we have few professors (intellectual leaders)in various fields then, Nigeria’s standard of living was superb. Our country was lending the likes of International Monetary fund, World Bank funds, with numerous professionals today our problem still increasing day by day. Intellectual leaders are also conspiring against the development of our country, that is why students embark on protest lamenting the lack of social and basic amenities in schools.
Each time I wake up from my slumber to read national dailies, no achievement have been recorded in these dailies so far till date rather than $20 billion missing, former National Security Adviser was charged to court on corruption allegation, a former governor was alleged of $11 billion fraud, a minister was declared wanted for $165 billion fraud, a ministry was unable to remit funds into the federal government coffer, senate president on trial on ‘’kwaraption’’ allegations, Nigeria economic is in recession, a senator from kogi flaunting fleet of cars on social media.
All these news been recorded in our national dailies is as a result of dearth in attitude quotient. i.e codes of conduct, ethics and values guiding there offices and that is why past leaders
have failed us.
Countries are trending on social media in terms of technology, agriculture, our country is still battling to pay workers salaries. Our economy is in shamble, we cant boost of 24/7 electricity, we are faced with challenge of environmental sustainability, cultural and religion diversity is zero, our roads are bad and that is why an automobile company as it slogan to be ‘’Built for Nigerian Roads’’.
Before the area of the square built upon the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle can be equal to the sum of the area of the square upon the remaining sides, there is need for us to produce young generation of leaders thereby including patriotism, attitude quotient as part of curriculum in our elementary school. If that is done our country will transmogrify from third world country to first world country.
